Introducing a new member to your fur family is an incredible experience. It’s always fun to discover how animals will react to each other, and these moments are often magical to be witnessed.
This is exactly what happened to Bailey, a friendly Golden Retriever who became a temporary surrogate father for a group of baby rabbits brought into his home.
Recorded in a heart-melting clip on YouTube, little rabbits run over to the slightly crooked but very affectionate dog.
The little bunnies have clearly chosen Bailey as their new protagonist, and Bailey seems dissatisfied with this new development.
To their master’s surprise, the bunnies show no fear of Bailey and immediately acknowledge him as their father. Bailey also accepts all four, as he lets them use his fur as an exercise in the woods.
Obviously, the rabbits feel safe and at ease with Bailey’s tender presence and his father’s affection.
The little rabbits are the epitome of cuteness, but with Bailey’s lightness, it’s almost too outrageous. There’s so much love going on that our hearts can barely take over.
Dogs are naturally social creatures and are well-known or tend to befriend both humans and other animals. In fact, under the right circumstances, the dog will befriend just about anything. So it makes perfect sense for Bailey to catch the rabbits so quickly.
Animal friendship is one of the purest things in the world. However, nothing can beat the company between two different species.
Bailey loves his new foster children, and we are sure he is taking his new father’s responsibility very seriously, giving his children all they need.
