Dog Who ‘Almost Died From Broken Heart’ Gets The Best Surprise

Reese and her best friend, Morgan, were inseparable. The two senior rescues frequently ate, slept, and cuddled together. Morgan, who was 12 years old at the time, lost away due to kidney disease, and Reese’s grief took its toll.

Amy Thatcher, Reese’s mother, told The Dodo, “I baked her special doggy cupcakes and slept on a mattress on my living room floor so she could sleep with me.” “Because Reese adores puppies, I even adopted a few foster puppies for a few days. Nothing appeared to assist.”

Reese’s health declined rapidly. She ceased eating and spent the most of her days trembling in bed. Since nothing appeared to improve Reese’s suffering, Thatcher decided to adopt another pet from the Best Friends Animal Society for the dog to help replace the vacuum left by Morgan’s passing.

“While browsing the available canines for adoption, Jeep’s attractive face attracted my eye,” remarked Thatcher. Prior to adopting Jeep, I had only ever acquired senior dogs. Since Reese did not cope well with Morgan’s death, I could not risk putting her through another loss, so I adopted a younger dog.

Thatcher met 1-year-old Jeep and immediately fell in love with him. She knew that although he was unlike Morgan, Reese would still love him.

Thatcher stated, “He greeted me with a wiggling butt and a big smile.” “As soon as I sat on the floor, he came over and sat on my lap. That instant, he stole my heart.

Thatcher adopted Jeep, and after introducing him to Reese, Reese fell in love with him as well. Her heart began to mend gradually, and now the two are inseparable.

“Jeep has brought out Reese’s youthful and fun side,” stated Thatcher. “Next month, she will turn 14 and she still wants to play with her ‘little brother’.” She dislikes it when he is away and is overjoyed when he returns.”

Reese will always mourn Morgan, but Jeep assures her that everything will be fine, a sentiment shared by Thatcher.

Thatcher stated, “Morgan made my life better by by being herself, and I will never forget her.” “But Jeep entered my life when, like Reese, my heart was broken. I don’t know how we would have made it through a difficult time without his assistance.”
