Sammy adored her father above all else. When he unexpectedly passed away, the 12-week-old Doberman mix had just began her life with him.
Fortunately, two kind EMTs in Fort Worth, Texas, came to their aid, which improved the lives of everyone involved.
Tegan Sliva, the EMT who attended to the call, told The Dodo, “I spotted the puppy cuddling with the patient, so I took her up.” “I held a weeping puppy in my arms.”
Sammy, brokenhearted and terrified, did not want to leave the only family she had ever known. Sliva and her EMT partner, Kirk, learned that Sammy had no place to go besides a shelter; however, they did not want that to be her fate, so they took her in.
Sliva stated, “We brought her to the ambulance as we were putting up our equipment.” Because she was covered in dust, we wiped her down with wet wipes and gave her water.
Sammy was supervised by Kirk’s girlfriend until he finished work. Sammy had discovered her new family at the end of the night.
