Family Finds Their Missing Dog — Then Realizes He’s An Imposter
It ended up being the best error.
José Eduardo Millani Ramos had no idea the drama that would unfold last week when he set out for an early morning walk near his house in Brazil.
Ikki, Ramos’ pet puppy, often follows him a short way as he sets out on his walks.
On this particular day, though, the puppy was not there when Ramos got home.
Ramos and his family started looking for Ikki in the streets and enlisting the help of others, but their efforts were in vain.
When he vanished, I felt awful, Ramos admitted to The Dodo. “I felt as though a piece of myself had been torn away. I had to know what had become of him.
After two days of unsuccessful looking, it appeared that the family had found the solution. Ramos saw the lost dog’s distinctive patches when he read a message online claiming the animal had been found and saved.
Ikki was located! Maybe he had?
Ramos drove to meet Ikki again and was overjoyed to see his wagging tail once more. The dog was in fine health, albeit he was dirtier than when Ramos had last seen him.
Ramos claimed, “I shouted out his name, and he raced to me. He continued to lick me.
The dog rapidly returned to his loving, joyful ways at home, acting exactly as he always has.
He gave me a kiss. Ramos stated, “We played. “I felt whole once more.”
The problem was that this wasn’t really Ikki.
Ramos became aware that some of the spots on the dog’s back didn’t jibe with what he remembered seeing on Ikki after the dog had been at his house for a few days.
Ramos understood the truth when he compared the puppy he had brought in to pictures of Ikki.
This dog was a fraud.
Even though Ramos and his family were stunned, they weren’t angry. By that time, they had grown to adore this fake dog, whom they chose to call Paolo.
However, it indicated that the genuine Ikki was still missing. But his absence wouldn’t last for long.
Ramos continued looking for Ikki online and came across a report that another dog had been found with similar markings to Ikki.
Ramos drove once more to get his missing puppy.
But this time, he was the real deal.
It had all been corrected. But as a result of the drama, Ramos and his family became more wealthier.
They made the decision to keep Paolo and to cherish Ikki and Paolo forever.
“We chose to retain the forger. Paolo was once a stray dog, but today he brings everything together, “explained Ramos. “He is not at fault. He too deserves a house.”
The best part is that Ikki feels no animosity toward the canine imposter. He and Paolo actually portray an unbroken relationship.
They are now pals, according to Ramos.
Ramos and his family discovered more than they had anticipated when looking for Ikki.
Ramos stated, “I am lucky to have them. “It was an error that turned out quite good.”
