Heartwarming Photos Of ‘The Walking Dead’ Star With His 3 Rescue Pit Bulls Will Melt Your Heart

From kicking asses to kicking down stigmas, ‘The Walking Dead’ star Jon Bernthal uses his platform to campaign for pit bulls. Using his own pets in social media posts and video public service announcements, the veteran animal rights activist demonstrates the lovely and endearing nature of these canines. Bernthal’s newest addition to his furry family is a pit bull he adopted in 2017 and named Lil Bam Bam Bernthal.

The actor shared a photo of Bernthal’s four-legged son with the caption, “Rescue a Pit Bull. They may very well save you again. Big love.”

It may not surprise you to learn that his affection for animals is inherited. His father is the board chairman of the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), with whom he collaborated on an anti-animal cruelty PSA. In addition to HSUS, the 40-year-old actor is now one of the faces of The Majority Project, a non-profit initiative of the Animal Farm Foundation. The objective of this campaign is to promote the breed through the use of positive photographs submitted by owners.

While Bernthal like to emphasize the gentle nature of these creatures, he has engaged in physical conflict with them. The actor claimed in an interview that he knocked out a man in 2009 to save his dog Boss. The intoxicated man had followed the couple after being advised not to approach the pit bull. Bernthal was arrested as a result of the confrontation, and while he is not proud of the battle, it is evident that no one should mess with this man’s dogs.

Bernthal has three pit bulls named Little Bam Bam, Boss, and Venice. Below are some cute photographs of the actor with his canine buddies.
