Kitten Rescued From Garbage Bin Didn’t Even Look Like A Cat

He’s doing a lot better now.

A sanitation worker in Oregon was emptying a bin into his truck earlier this month when he heard something unsettling.

The agonizing howls of a helpless animal could be heard coming from deep inside the container.

Looking more closely, the worker saw a helpless kitten that had been brutally sprayed with hardened foam and allowed to perish.

He appeared to be something from a Halloween horror film, Hillsboro Veterinary Clinic’s Diane Healey told FOX 12 News. “He couldn’t have suffocated if it had been there for a very long time. The legs were immobile and stiff, and the head and face were both covered.”

Fortunately, the kitten quickly managed to escape his foam enclosure.

The 8-week-old male cat was extracted from the spray foam by shop staff after the driver returned the trash can to the Hillsboro Garbage Disposal facility, according to a statement from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. The kitten was then sent to a nearby veterinarian for treatment.

The kitten most likely came from a feral cat that is known to frequent the area around the multi-unit building where the trash bin was left out, according to officials. In order to find the culprit who committed this horrible act of animal cruelty, authorities are asking for the public’s assistance.

Despite what had been done to him, the kitten that was saved is now secure.

The kitten’s prognosis is favorable, according to a representative of the Bonnie Hays Animal Shelter where he is receiving care, who spoke to The Dodo:
