Little Dog Trapped In Tar Kept Barking Until Someone Heard Him

“Tears came to my eyes when I finally arrived and saw a puppy lying in the tar.”

Workers in the Polish town of Suwaki heard something concerning last week. A dog was barking incessantly, as if begging for aid, from a faraway, wooded region.

Fortunately, the workers chose to pay attention to those cries and followed the sound until it took them to this location:

There was a dog in dire need of help, stuck in a puddle of sticky tar and unable to move.

When the workers were unable to free the trapped puppy on their own, they called a rescuer from the Niczyje Animal Foundation named Joanna Godlewska. Uncertain of what to anticipate, she hurried to the scene.

Godlewska told The Dodo, “When I finally got there and saw a dog lying in the tar, tears came to my eyes.”

It’s thought that the dog, who may have been left behind, was looking for warmth when he came upon the illegally deposited tar. He may not have realized, however, that when he laid down on it, he would become utterly trapped.

The dog’s exact length of stay is unknown, but it was obvious that he wouldn’t have lived for very long. His spirit was dwindling fast.

Godlewska was assisted in pulling him out by a squad from the nearby fire department. A spark of hope could be seen in the eyes of the captive pup as they toiled.

Godlewska added, “He realized we were saving him.

Rescuers used cooking oil to remove the remaining fur after carefully cutting away the areas that were most encased in tar.

Then, after much effort, they succeeded in lifting him out.

The dog was brought to a veterinary clinic where he received emergency fatigue treatment and had as much of the leftover tar scraped off of him as possible.

To put it mildly, the labor was messy.

Thankfully, the dog was discovered to be mostly healthy, save for a few minor wounds on one side of his face.

The dog has gone through several more washing sessions since then, and after each one, his kind soul keeps getting stronger.

Godlewska stated, “He feels better and better.”

The dog, who was later given the name Farcik, was ultimately rescued from more than just the sticky death trap he had been discovered in.

He was no longer unloved or alone.

Even though Farcik still has to recuperate, he is surrounded by individuals who are concerned about him and his future.

Godlewska hopes to adopt him and place him in a devoted forever family when the time is appropriate.

Farcik’s near-fatal ordeal in the tar may have been caused by unknown circumstances, but there is little doubt that his will to survive and notify the appropriate parties to his dilemma made all the difference.

Godlewska stated, “All I wanted to do was save him.” “I want to thank everyone who helped preserve this dog,”
