Meet Augie, the world’s oldest golden retriever, who is 20 years old

August, also known as “Augie,” turned 20 a year ago. As a result, he now holds the record for being the world’s oldest person of his species. He is a golden retriever who has survived at least twice as long as the majority of other members of this species.

Goldheart Golden Retrievers Rescue, Tennessee, revealed that it exceeded all expectations in terms of life expectancy for these dogs.

At the age of 14, she was adopted by a family in Oakland, Tennessee, and now resides there.

There were many beautiful images of Augie on her birthday, and they commented that even though she is now 20 years old, she is still alive and well.

Genetics and the care she received from her owner, Jennifer, are credited with her longevity, according to those who have studied her case.

Furthermore, they claimed that retrievers as old as 17, 18, and even 19 years had been documented; however, Augie is without a doubt the first and only one of her species to reach this milestone.

Augie, despite the difficulties that have befallen her, is still incredibly active for her remarkable age, says CNN’s Jennifer Hetterscheidt.

Even though Augie is a breeze to look after, they nonetheless keep a close check on her at all times.

A lovely cake and an inventive banner adorned her new birthday celebration with her loving owners.

Even though most people choose puppies as pets, Jennifer and Steve changed their minds after traveling across the entire United States.

However, that wasn’t the only consideration here. August was lonely, so her owners decided to bring her three more tiny dogs of the same breed.
