Momma deer comes running to help when she hears a newborn baby crying
In a touching TikTok video, a mother tries to comfort her crying baby only to discover that a deer has just rushed out of the woods to lend a hand. As of this writing, the video has been viewed more than 27 million times, and it’s easy to see why.
Baby newborns can cry for any reason, and even their mother may have a tough time calming them down. Hanna Burton recently had that experience, but she also saw something she never expected to see. The mom was sitting on the deck of her home in New Lexington, Ohio, while she tried to soothe her sobbing newborn son, Charlie.

Suddenly, an unexpected guest appeared on the terrace, where the baby was lying on a blanket with his mother at his side, patiently trying to soothe him. Hanna and her baby were greeted by a wild deer who sprinted straight toward them from the bushes. The woman quickly grasped what the deer’s goals were, and she sought to reassure her that everything was going to be alright. The wild animal simply acted on her mother’s instincts and rushed to the scene to assist!

“Nope! Nope! “Nope!” the woman exclaims. The baby here is mine.” This one’s special to me because it’s my firstborn. “Hello there, mama!” After that, she tries to explain to Charlie what occurred. She told her child, “She thinks you’re her kid.”

The mother took a video of the precious moment and posted it on the internet. She captioned the video, which went viral, “When you almost have to throw down with a momma deer because your baby starts crying outside,” Check it out:

Although the video won over many viewers’ hearts, Hanna has received some backlash for the way she handled the matter. In the end, she shared a snapshot of her son Charlie, sleeping soundly on the porch with the rest of the world. There was much discussion on the deer’s unexpected reaction, with one individual stating:
“In their protective nature, deer may have assumed it was a smaller animal in danger. They’ll go to great lengths to keep bunnies safe. They have such a generous spirit! “
