Rescued baby lion can’t sleep without favorite blanket even though he’s now fully grown

All wild animals should be allowed to live their natural lives without being confined to little cages. Many animals are compelled to live terrible lives far from their native habitats as a result of human interference.

As it turns out, many of these animals are being saved just in time thanks to a few kindhearted animal enthusiasts. This kindhearted person is Vicky Keahey, founder of the In-Sync Exotics Wildlife Rescue and Educational Center. Vicky is one of these generous people. Among the many creatures saved by Vicky and her team is Lambert, a beautiful and majestic lion.

Lambert was in a bad state when he was recovered by rescuers in 2014. Starvation had reduced him to a weak puppy rather than the lion-like beast that should have been his natural state. The lion cub was unlawfully purchased by a callous man who kept him as a pet, and then he decided he didn’t want the wild animal any more.

As In-Sync Exotics Wildlife Rescue communications director Angela Culver told Bored Panda, “The previous owners obtained him illegally as a pet for their young children.” So we were asked to take him after a short period of time when the family realized they couldn’t keep him. Of course, we were glad to do so.

Lambert was befuddled and fearful upon his arrival at the rescue facility, but his routine quickly won over everyone’s heart. According to reports, the lion cub sought solace in a blanket that he was unable to sleep without it. “We had heard from prior owners that he shared a bed with the grandfather,” Vicky explained to The Dodo. “So I obtained a blanket for him and entered the enclosure, placing the blanket in one of the corners. He curled up in the blanket and fell asleep immediately. Since that time, I’ve always given him a blanket. “

Lambert has made a full recovery as a result of the efforts of the rescue crew, and he is now virtually unrecognizable. Despite his success in getting back on track, the now adult lion continues to reside at the center because he would not be able to survive in the wild. Lambert, despite the fact that he is now a fully grown lion, still likes to cuddle up under a blanket before going to bed at night.

7,000 square feet of space to run about in, including a covered den area for shade and protection from the elements, as well as a sunny, grassy playground with a swimming pool that he enjoys playing in, “Angela Culver explained. “He is just like any other 2 year-old lion in that he is active and playful, and is full of cattitude. You know where you stand with him. “
