Rooster Shows Up At Auto Shop One Day And Decides He Works There Now
We find it incredible how much attention Earl is receiving.
A rooster wandered into R and R Garage in North Carolina on an ordinary day last summer and didn’t seem to have any intentions of leaving. When the workers took a long weekend, they sort of anticipated he would move on to another location because they had presumed he had been abandoned and had started feeding him leftovers from the store refrigerator.
But when everyone came back, he was still there, so they gave him the name Earl and made him the shop rooster.

Unless the weather is terrible, Earl spends the night in a neighboring tree, where everyone makes sure he is secure. Earl greets his coworkers as they arrive for work each morning with enthusiasm, and he has established a regular rhythm around the store that everyone has grown to know and appreciate.

Joe Gallo, co-owner of R and R Garage, said to The Dodo, “He comes sprinting when the first guy comes in to open up for the day.” “After getting his cup of scratch, he looks around the store for any potential bugs. In search of spiders and everything else he can discover, he stands up underneath all the toolboxes and workbenches.

Earl enjoys hanging out with the workers in the garage after going on his morning breakfast hunt. He unmistakably gives the impression that he is simply another employee of the garage, which he kind of is at this point.
He will normally sleep in a corner or under the automobile you are working on when he enters the business, according to Gallo. “He doesn’t mind whether others pass by or make loud noises. We have occasionally tripped over him because he will even sleep in front of the office door.

Earl doesn’t seem to be aware that he frequently gets in the way.

… and everyone at the shop has recently come to terms with the fact that working around their rooster mascot is a part of their daily employment.

Earl has been “working” at the business for so long that he has earned a small amount of local notoriety, and everyone there has welcomed their little feathered employee fully. To demonstrate him that he is a legitimate member of the squad, they are even working on redesigning their logo and having jerseys created with his image on them.
We’re shocked by the media coverage Earl is receiving; it’s now the talk of the town, Gallo remarked. When clients pick up their autos, some of them bring friends or family to meet Earl.

Nobody is entirely sure of Earl’s origins or the reasons behind his decision to make the R and R Garage his home, but everyone there is incredibly happy that he did and now considers him to be a member of their extended family.
