Meet Burreaux, an adorable black labrador who tries his best to smile at everyone who passes by the kennel hoping to be adopted.
One day, after passing by a local animal control center, Courtney Wingate, director of the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana, discovered a trio of baby mice and knew she couldn’t get rid of them. She attracted all three pups, but it was Burreaux’s charming smile that caught her eye.
So Courtney called volunteer Sarrah Walton, who came and rescued the pups before naming them after three Louisiana State University football players.
The trio were taken straight to the vet for routine checkups, and all appeared to be positive. However, when they returned to the rescue center, Burreaux fell ill.
They immediately took him back to the veterinary hospital, where he was treated and made a full recovery.
After the trio returned to the rescue shelter, Sarrah began to notice that Burreaux would flash a big smile every time someone spoke to him in a high-pitched voice.
Whenever someone calls him a good boy, he flashes his tiny teeth in a grin, Sarrah said:
“That’s whenever you talk sweetly to him… he gives this smile as if he wants something. [It’s] like he’s saying to you, “Love me, love me.”
When they were ready for adoption, the rescue team decided that sharing their extraordinary talents on social media would be the best way to find them a permanent home.
Joe is a natural aficionado, he was quickly adopted after sharing a video of his skills.
As for Berreuax, the staff at the shelter decided to share a video of him flashing his adorable smile to show his sweet nature.
We thought, “Burreaux wants a house so badly that he’s always smiling, trying to make it cuter”.
