Enzo is a golden retriever that draws attention because he is attractive, but also because of a rare disease that causes him to have a black mark on his face but has no effect on his health. The disease is called ‘pigmented somatic cell mutation.’
Ella Castro, the mother of Enzo Castro, said:
When it comes to dogs, black is beautiful. That’s because golden retrievers have a genetic basis that favors black coloring and they have a modifier gene that makes them golden. Almost all dogs have this, but Enzo has a mistake in his genetic material, and the modifier gene has been removed from that portion of his face.
A golden retriever like Enzo is known for his beautiful coat. It’s lovely and uniform, adding to the uniqueness of this dog.
Enzo is a little bit bigger than other dogs his breed, but that’s OK. Enzo is just like any other dog, having the same playful personality and goofy traits.
She explained to Bored Panda:
“He enjoys greeting runners, bikers, and other dogs, and he appears to take offense if someone is too preoccupied to say hi.”
Enzo has described himself as “cream of English with some freckles.” on Instagram. This is a fantastic self-description. Snuggle Expert, Nap Pro, Sock Thief, Walker, Kiss Giver
Enzo seems to have no idea that he has a disease that makes him special, but he seems to be content, he wants to play at all times, and make friends everywhere he goes.
