In the height of spring, young animals are everywhere, and their devoted mothers are never far behind.
Bears are among the most protective and watchful of animal mothers, and hiker Rebecca Connell was in for a treat earlier this month while driving through Cades Cove in the Smoky Mountains.
She saw a sizable mother bear carefully guiding her four young cubs across the road as she reached the bend.
The little cubs followed their mother into the woods as they crossed the road one at a time on shaky legs and tiny paws. The family almost had a mother duck and her ducklings look to it from a distance.
Connell recorded the entire moment while keeping her distance, and hundreds of people have since seen and shared the endearing video online.
Connell will never forget this wonderful moment when he realized that this mommy bear really meant business.
