Floods are widespread in Bangladesh during the rainy season, but they are also exceedingly harmful to people and wildlife alike. During a violent rainstorm in Noakhali, Bangladesh, a fast-rising river caused the deer to be separated from its family. Because of the young boy’s quick thinking, the tiny critter was saved from drowning by the swift currents. His first reaction was to leap into the fray and do everything he could to save the deer.

They both made it to the riverbanks unharmed thanks to his daring and fearless move. The rescue was captured on camera by a photographer who observed it firsthand. Moreover, the striking visuals speak for themselves.

The photographer, Hasibul Wahab, said he and the others present were astounded to see the brave young man. However, he claimed that at one point, they feared for his life.

It was high tide, and the river was churning, so Wahab claimed he was afraid he might drown. “My friend was even willing to jump into the river in order to save the little guy.” But he made it, and when he came back, we thanked the child for his efforts. Only five to seven people were present to witness this event, but what they saw was nothing short of spectacular.
